Raytheon enhances cybersecurity offerings

WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Raytheon Co. has acquired Virginia's Trusted Computer Solutions to bolster its end-to-end cybersecurity capabilities.

Raytheon said the acquisition is its seventh related to the cybersecurity market since 2007.

TCS is a privately held company that delivers a comprehensive portfolio of cross-domain, operating system and network security solutions.

Details of the transaction weren't immediately disclosed.

Founded in 1994, TCS is an industry leader in cross-domain and cybersecurity software and services that enable organizations to manage and share information securely across multiple classification levels and domains.

The company will be known as Raytheon Trusted Computer Solutions and will be integrated into Raytheon's Intelligence and Information Systems business within the Information Security Solutions product line.

"Raytheon is committed to delivering the industry's most comprehensive portfolio of products, solutions and services to help protect the nation's most critical networks," said Lynn Dugle, president of IIS. "Trusted Computer Solutions' very strong product portfolio extends Raytheon's leadership in government cross-domain solutions and delivers vital new capabilities to our suite of cyber solutions."

TCS products include the SecureOffice suite of cross-domain solutions that allow the secure transfer and sharing of information across networks of different classification levels; Security Blanket, an automated operating system lock-down and management tool; and CounterStorm, a behavioral, statistical and content-based anomaly detection system that rapidly identifies targeted and zero-day attacks.
