NACON supports Army online cyber training

ANNAPOLIS, Md., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- NACON Consulting LLC of Maryland has been contracted to support the U.S. Army's online cybersecurity training efforts.

The contract from the Army Chief Information Officer has a one-year base performance period with two one-year options. The value of the award, if all options are exercised, is $4.4 million.

"NACON is honored to accept this vital contract, and we are well aware of the responsibility it represents," stated Kent Leonard, NACON Chief Operating Officer Kent Leonard said. "We look forward to continuing and building our relationship with the Army CIO and the Office of Information Assurance & Compliance to provide exceptional distance learning opportunities for our service men and women and their support staff."

The company has been performing much of the work identified in this newly won contract for eight years as a subcontractor.

NACON said it will continue using its distance learning expertise to support the Army CIO's extensive cybersecurity training mission, providing project management, course and virtual lab development, help desk support and technical support.

Work on the contract will be conducted at the company's Annapolis, Md., facility.
