TASC names head of cybersecurity effort

CHANTILLY, Va., May 11 (UPI) -- TASC Inc. has named a 31-year U.S. Air Force veteran to lead the company's efforts addressing the growing cybersecurity threat facing government agencies.

Virginia's engineering, integration and decision-support solutions provider for the intelligence and defense community TASC announced the appointment of Larry Strang as its new Cybersecurity Initiatives head.

TASC, a company formerly part of defense contractor Northrop Grumman, said in a news release Strang worked at SAIC and served for 31 years in the Air Force. Most recently Strang was Northrop Grumman Cybersecurity Group's vice president and director.

TASC appointed Strang as part of a larger company initiative to increase its presence in the cybersecurity market and strengthen its capabilities to address threats from cyberterrorism.

"With threats to our nation's cybersecurity constantly changing, TASC is well-prepared to continue to help the federal government assure the security and resiliency of America's information technology and communications infrastructure," Wood Parker, TASC president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
