ORLANDO, Fla., April 8 (UPI) -- U.S. company Lockheed Martin and teammate Aerojet reached a milestone following a successfully completed full temperature range testing for a missile program.
Lockheed Martin and Aerojet are working together as part of the Joint Air-to-Ground Missile program. The companies announced the recent completion of a full temperature range testing marking a milestone for the JAGM program.
The test, which took place in Arkansas, involved cold temperature missile motor firings that successfully validated a single rocket motor solution for all JAGM platforms.
"Our motor has been optimized for employment off fixed-wing, rotary-wing and unmanned aerial vehicles, and it meets or exceeds every key performance parameter including maximum and minimum ranges, minimum-smoke propellant and, as just demonstrated, the hot and cold temperature parameters," Hady Mourad, Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control JAGM program director, said in a statement.
