ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- The U.S. Air Force announced Virginia-based Global Analytic IT Services has been contracted to support the USAF's Expeditionary Combat Support System Program.
GAITS is a network solutions provider for the security, defense and e-government industries.
Under the contract GAITS will provide the U.S. Air Force with oversight of the Expeditionary Combat Support System Program. The GAITS team for the ECSS program will be expected to identify the best and most feasible methods for staffing and approaches in an effort to achieve program objectives.
To replace more than 700 existing software systems to support the USAF's worldwide logistics system, ECSS uses database management system provider Oracle's Enterprise Resource Planning suite.
Recommendations will be made by the GAITS team to identify potential risks and changes necessary to handle those risks.
"The GAITS Team is committed to aiding the U.S. Air Force in their goals through our proficiency in Program Management and Validation and Verification," said Thomas Asefi, GAITS president, in a statement. "We are pleased to be able to offer the United States Air Force the quality assurance and program efficiencies that comes from our ISO 9001:2000 and CMMI procedures and processes."
