Keurig, AB-InBev partnering on in-home alcohol dispenser

WATERBURY, Vt., Jan. 7 (UPI) -- Single-serve coffee machine manufacturer Keurig will partner with brewer Anheuser Busch-InBev to create an in-home cocktail and beer maker, the companies said.

The as-yet-unnamed device will be able to dispense beer, spirits, cocktails and mixers, the companies said in a joint press release Friday.

Keurig has already begun experimenting with cold drink dispensers with its now-defunct Keurig Kold soda dispenser unit. Company officials said they want to combine Keurig's system with AB InBev's new brewing and dispensary technology. Keurig CEO Bob Gamgort said development and production of the new device would take place in Massachusetts and Vermont.

"We're thrilled to be moving forward with this joint venture and look forward to working closely with the Keurig Green Mountain team to explore the possibilities of what we can achieve together," said Nathaniel Davis, CEO of the new venture. "We can't wait to get started."
