Nissan shows off clap-activated self-parking office chairs

YOKOHAMA, Japan, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Nissan unveiled their new "intelligent parking chair" that employ the Japanese car company's park assist technology.

The company showed off the chairs, which are activated by clapping, in a YouTube video that shows the office chairs placing themselves perfectly underneath desks and conference tables without human guidance.

The chairs use technology that is already employed in several Nissan vehicles that uses automatic steering to assist drivers in parking their cars.

Rollers allow the chairs to move in 360 degrees while camera's placed on the rooms ceiling identify the chair's position and plan its route.

These innovative pieces of office furniture are not likely to be available for sale any time in the near future as they were constructed to promote the company's park assist technology.
