NEW YORK, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Former Victoria's Secret model Gisele Bundchen struck back against her detractors in her new commercial for athletic apparel company Under Armour.
Bundchen is the latest to sign on to Under Armour's multi-million dollar women's campaign, which focuses on empowerment of health conscious women with the slogan "I will what I want."
The first advertisement featured ballerina Misty Copeland dancing to a young girl's voice reading a rejection letter to a ballet academy.
In Bundchen's commercial, she kicks a punching bag as words insulting her scrawl across the walls of the room.
"She's just a model" and "She's nothing special at all" appear as she pummels the bag. The comments come from social media users reacting to Under Armour signing her as a female athlete for the campaign.
"This incredibly inspirational initiative serves as a powerful reminder of all the amazing things women can do despite the pressures and criticisms we may encounter," Bundchen said in a statement. "Having the strength to tune out negativity and remain focused on what I want gives me the will and confidence to achieve my goals."
