DETROIT, June 25 (UPI) -- General Motors asked its dealers to stop selling recent models of the Chevy Cruze because of a potential defect in the air bags.
GM said that is halting the sale of all Cruze models until it can be determined which vehicles have the defective air bags. The air bags were supplied by Takata Corporation, which was also involved in the recall of millions of cars by Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Nissan. The carmakers reported that the air bags could rupture into fragments and injure passengers on impact.
