STOCKHOLM, Sweden, May 27 (UPI) -- Spotify has asked users on its Android app to change their passwords after the company found that company systems and internal data had been accessed.
The music-streaming service said that one user's data was accessed during the breach. A blog post on the company's site says that the user's financial information, payment details and passwords weren't accessed.
"Based on our findings, we are not aware of any increased risk to users as a result of this incident," said the post written by Spotify Chief Technical Officer Oskar Stal.
Spotify said they would ask users to re-enter their username and password to log in over the coming days. As a precaution, Android users will also be asked to reinstall the app from the Google Play Store.
Stal said that the company was investigating the matter and was increasing security measures for its users. Users who use the service using iOS or Windows OS phones won't have to take any action.
