Crude oil tops $103

NEW YORK, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Crude oil and natural gas both traded at 2014 peaks in New York, hitting four and five month highs, respectively, as winter kept a grip on the demand outlook.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil added 51 cents to hit $103.42 per barrel. Natural gas, in short supply in some regions, added 56 cents to $6.12 per million British thermal units with the price peaking at midday at $6.256 before settling down.

Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices dropped 1.99 cents to $2.8209 per gallon.

Heating oil prices added 4.67 cents to $3.1537 per gallon.

Natural gas added 36 cents to hit $5.92 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded rose from Tuesday's $3.366 per gallon to $3.375, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
