Baby Jogger recalls 30,200 car seat adaptors

WASHINGTON, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- U.S. regulators announced a voluntary recall of 30,200 Baby Jogger car seat adaptors for strollers they say have support bars that can fail.

The car seat adaptors were imported from China by Baby Jogger LLC of Richmond, Va., and sold at nationwide from June 2012 through June 2013 for about $60 for the single adaptor and $100 for the double adaptor.

They were sold in three models, "Single," "Double" and "Select/Versa," which were made for Select and Versa strollers. They are used to secure a variety of car seats onto Baby Jogger strollers.

The adaptors consist of two U-shaped, black, aluminum support bars and two black plastic adaptors. They also have nylon straps that secure the car seat to the adaptor on the stroller.

The older models, which have 10 holes on the A support bar's red plastic tip are under recall. The newer models with four holes are not involved in the recall, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a notice released Wednesday.

Consumers were advised to stop using the adaptors and contact Baby Jogger for free replacement support bars.

Consumers can call 877-506-2213 for information.
