MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 13 (UPI) -- A research firm that tracks digital advertising said U.S. Internet giant Google has established itself as the dominant company in mobile advertising.

EMarketer has forecast Google would earn $8.9 billion in mobile ad revenue in 2013, commanding a 56 percent share of the market.

In 2012, EMarketer said, Google controlled 52 percent of the market. That means for two years running and with a lead that is growing, Google's revenue from mobile ads was more than the revenue earned by every other company put together.

The research firm said Google would earn $39 billion in ad revenues in 2013, a 19 percent increase from 2012.

In the $117 billion market, Facebook came in second, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.

That would be a distant second. Facebook's take of the total market in digital advertising is 5 percent of the market. Yahoo is No. 3 with a 3 percent share of the market.

Ecommerce retail firm Amazon.com is also accelerating its advertising sales with EMarketer projecting the company will earn $840 million from online advertising, an increase from $610 million in 2012.
