West Marine folding deck chairs recalled

WASHINGTON, June 6 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of West Marine folding deck chairs that do not support the stated weight capacity.

About 1,200 deck chairs were imported from China by West Marine Products Inc. of Watsonville, Calif., and sold nationwide from February 2012 to May 2012 for about $70.

The company has received six reports of chairs collapsing, although no injuries have been reported.

The recalled involves West Marine Deluxe Deck Chairs. They are folding chairs with metal legs and light-colored wood armrests

The seat and back are covered with blue and gray nylon fabric. The back can be adjusted to various angles.

They were sold with model/SKU number "13110341" printed on a coated paper tag attached to the chair frame.

Consumers were advised to stop using the deck chairs and call West Marine for a full refund or store credit.

Consumers may also return the chairs to any West Marine store for a refund or credit.
