WASHINGTON, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- American Honda Motor Co. Inc., based in Torrance, Calif., is recalling 18,500 snowblowers with potentially leaking fuel tanks, a federal watchdog agency said.
The snowblowers were imported from Japan and sold nationwide between April 2005 and November 2010 for $2,000 to $3,400, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.
The recall involves red and black Honda snowblowers with model Nos. HS724, HS928 and HS1132.
The commission said fuel tank joints and O-rings under the fuel tank can leak, presenting a fire hazard.
Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled snowblowers and contact a Honda Power Equipment dealer for a free inspection and parts replacement.
