Prince Albert II of Monaco, however, has conferred Monegasque citizenship upon Wynn, so he can serve as an outside director for a joint Monegasque and Qatar venture, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

It was not announced what venture was involved. A likely possibility is the Monaco QD International Hotels and Resorts Management, a joint venture that is attempting to purchase hotels in Europe, the United States and the Middle East, the Sun reported.

Wynn is chairman and chief executive officer of Wynn Resorts Ltd.
