NEW YORK, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- A New York City jeweler known for loaning high-priced baubles to celebrities was arrested on fraud charges Monday, authorities said.
The jeweler, Ralph Esmerian, faces charges of fraud and lying to U.S. postal inspectors, the New York Daily News reported.

The case involves about $210 million in loans Esmerian took out to keep the Fred Leighton jewelry company going, the newspaper said.
