WASHINGTON, July 13 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of PDi Communications televisions due to a fire hazard.
About 2,700 televisions imported from China were installed in healthcare facilities nationwide from September 2008 through July 2009 by PDi Communications Inc. of Springboro, Ohio, for about $1,000.

The recall includes 26-inch and 32-inch LCD televisions with model numbers PDI-P26LCDC and PDI-P32LCDD. The capacitors in the televisions can fail, posing a fire hazard, the commission said.
Consumers were advised to unplug the televisions and contact PDi for a free repair.
