GREENBELT, Md., May 3 (UPI) -- NASA says it has awarded a $49 million engineering and technology support bridge contract to Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies Inc. of Greenbelt, Md.
Officials said the contract will sustain performance until a follow-on contract is awarded, which is expected by July.
The space agency said the company will performs tasks necessary for the formulation, design, development, flight and non-flight fabrication, integration, testing, verification and operations of spaceflight and ground system hardware and software. Tasks include development and validation of new technologies to enable future missions at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt.
The contract supports a wide range of NASA's missions and projects, including the James Webb Space Telescope and several satellite programs.
