DETROIT, Sept. 3 (UPI) -- General Motors Co. said Michael Robinson, a member of its legal staff, would take the post of vice president of environment, energy and public safety.
Robinson has been with GM since 1984, holding "a number of positions on the General Motors Corporation Legal Staff," GM said Thursday in a statement.

"We are excited to have him involved in this critical area of our business," Ken Cole, GM vice president of public policy said.
Robinson takes over from Beth Lowery, who is retiring in October.
