Crude oil prices rebound Wednesday

NEW YORK, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices are surging on the New York Mercantile Exchange, climbing for a second straight day and surpassing $72 per barrel Wednesday.

Crude oil prices followed stocks lower Monday, but added $3.45 Tuesday and an additional $2.03 Wednesday to reach $72.27 per barrel.

Heating oil prices gained 0.0469 cents to $1.9199 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline prices rose 0.0197 cents to $2.0315. Natural gas prices gained 0.016 cents to $3.134 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline fell to $2.628 per gallon Wednesday from Tuesday's $2.634, AAA said.
