BEIJING, June 18 (UPI) -- China Eastern Airlines said Thursday it would buy 20 medium-range Airbus A320 jetliners for $1.4 billion.
China Eastern, the third largest airline in the country, signed the agreement in Paris. It said the 150-passenger airliners, would meet increased demand for domestic passenger flights, the China Daily reported.
Delivery of the planes is expected to start in 2011 and end sometime in 2013.
The deal for the 20 planes requires approval from Chinese aviation authorities, the newspaper said.
