WASHINGTON, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of General Power portable generators due to a fire hazard.
About 13,000 of the portable generators made in China were sold from June 2008 through September 2008 for between $600 and $800.
General Power Products LLC of Loveland, Ohio, has received 14 reports of damaged fuel valves, although no injuries have been reported, the commission said.
The recall involves the General Power Products 6,000 Watt and Poulan Pro 6,000 Watt portable generators with serial numbers 060400483 through 060600725.
Consumers were advised to stop using generators and contact General Power Products to determine if their units require a free repair.
