MINNEAPOLIS, June 13 (UPI) -- David Roberts is moving from the chief executive's office at Graco Inc. in Minnesota to take over the same job at North Carolina-headquartered Carlisle Cos.
Roberts, 59, has been president and CEO of the Minneapolis pump-maker for six years. Under his guidance, Graco's revenues grew 73 percent to $816.5 million last year.
Roberts will hold both titles at the Charlotte, N.C., maker of auto parts and construction materials, the Star Tribune reported Wednesday.
Taking over Roberts' duties at Graco will be Patrick McHale, 47, a 17-year Graco executive who most recently was vice president and general manager of its lubrication equipment division.
"We have had a robust succession process in place for a number of years," Graco Chairman Lee Mitau told the Minneapolis newspaper, adding McHale had been a leading candidate for some time.
"Every assignment Pat has had he's excelled at. He's a relentless competitor, he has natural leadership ability, and people really like working with him," Mitau said.
Mitau, 58, was appointed to a second term as chairman. He is executive vice president and general counsel of U.S. Bancorp.
