Celebrity Cruise Lines wins $193M verdict

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn., June 29 (UPI) -- Celebrity Cruise Lines Inc. has won a $193 million jury award against a Minnesota company in a Legionnaires Disease case.

However, Pentair Inc., which owns the company that was being sued, vowed Thursday to appeal the verdict. The 1994 suit arose after an outbreak of the disease on a ship owned by Essef Corp., which Pentair subsequently bought.
