MASHANTUCKET, Conn., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- An Indian tribe known as the Mashantucket Pequots has hired a construction company for a $462.8 million expansion of a Connecticut casino.
Perini Building Co. Inc. said Tuesday it will build the 2 million-square-foot expansion of the Foxwoods Resort Casino, already the largest casino in the world.

The southeastern Connecticut facility currently covers 4.7 million-square feet and includes 340,000 square feet of gambling space, plus 1,400 hotel rooms.
The expansion will include the addition of a 26-story, 825-room hotel and 2,900 more parking spaces.
"We couldn't be more thrilled to be partnering with Perini Building Co.," said Michael Thomas, chairman of the Mashantucket Pequot tribe.
