Chicago firm gets big UAE engineering job

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Chicago's CB&I engineering firm won a $130 million contract to design and build liquefied natural gas facilities in the United Arab Emirates.

CB&I will build LPG tanks and a pentane tank for a natural gas processing expansion project in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Middle East Newsline reported Tuesday.

The contract, expected to be finalized by mid-2008, is with Italy's Snamprogetti SpA, prime contractor for the project's owner, Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd.

ADGI is a unit of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., which is expanding its existing facility at Ruwais that processes associated and non-associated gas from onshore oil production into marketable natural gas liquids for export.
