UPS buys Stolica

, Feb. 7 (UPI) -- United Parcel Service Inc. of Atlanta, Ga., Monday acquired messenger service Stolica S.A. of Warsaw, Poland, for unspecified financial terms.

Stolica is one of the leading parcel and express delivery companies in Poland.

UPS, the world's largest package delivery company, has offered service in Poland since 1992.

UPS said it expects to complete the transaction early during the second quarter of 2005, subject to customary closing conditions.
