Non-manufacturing activity expands

NEW YORK, May 5 (UPI) -- The Institute for Supply Management said Monday business activity in the non-manufacturing sector of the economy expanded in April. The group's index rose to 50.7 from 47.9 in March. Economists were expecting the index of business other than manufacturing to improve to 50.
