Mortgage rates rise

WASHINGTON, May 17 (UPI) -- Freddie Mac reported Friday mortgage rates rose for the second consecutive week but were expected to remain stable for the foreseeable future. Freddie Mac said the average rate on the 30-year loan to homebuyers rose to 6.89 percent from 6.79 percent last week and from 6.78 percent two weeks ago.
