DETROIT, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Ford Motor Co. is cutting payments to contract laborers by 7 percent across-the-board to save money amid a cash crisis at the world's second-largest automaker. The austerity plan will affect thousands of technical employees at firms such as IBM but save Ford tens of millions of dollars a year.
