Boeing to cut production

CHICAGO, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- The head of Boeing Co.'s jetliner division said Friday airliner production rates will be reduced to half of current levels by the middle of next year. Alan Mulally, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said the company also will have to decide whether to keep producing its slow-selling 717 aircraft.
