SOFIA, Bulgaria, April 26 (UPI) -- Insurgents fired on Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov's car during a visit to Iraq, Bulgarian media reported Monday.
Parvanov was not hurt during the five minute long attack on his convoy late Sunday which was thought to have been the work of Shiite gunmen.
Parvanov returned to Bulgaria early Monday. He came home with the body of a Bulgarian soldier killed in an ambush and eight other injured soldiers.
Bulgaria has 450 troops operating in Iraq.
