Arie Luyendyk Jr., Lauren Burnham expecting first child

Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Arie Luyendyk, Jr., and Lauren Burnham are expecting their first child together.

The Bachelor couple said in Instagram posts Tuesday that they are so happy to be having a baby.

Luyendyk shared a photo of himself and Burnham kissing while holding up a sonogram. The dad-to-be couldn't help but gush about the news in the caption.

"Nothing compares, absolutely nothing compares to the moment you find out you're going to be a dad! We cried, we laughed and it really was such a special moment for us, we're so freakin' happy!" he wrote.

Burnham posted another picture of herself embracing and kissing Luyendyk. Her large diamond engagement ring can be seen in the snapshot.

"Our greatest adventure begins June 2019!" she wrote, adding a baby emoji.

Luyendyk and Burnham said in an interview with Us Weekly that Burnham's pregnancy came as somewhat of a surprise.

"We weren't trying, but we are so excited," Luyendyk told the magazine. "It's going to be a whole new chapter in our lives."

The Bachelor alums also said they still plan to marry in January. Burnham will work with wedding dress designer Hayley Paige to accommodate her baby bump.

"The first thing we thought of was, 'Oh my gosh. Our wedding,'" she said. "Obviously we're not married yet, but this is the way it happened -- and this is probably the way it was meant to happen!"

Luyendyk got engaged to Burnham on The Bachelor After the Final Rose special after ending his engagement to Becca Kufrin during the Season 22 finale. The couple will tie the knot Jan. 12 in Maui, Hawaii.
