Crystal Method, Van Dyk win dance awards

MIAMI, March 10 (UPI) -- The Crystal Method and German DJ/producer Paul Van Dyk each won three American Dance Music Awards from DanceStar USA at the third annual ceremony in Miami.

Following close behind were Moby, Felix da Housecat and Deep Dish with two trophies each at the Tuesday night event at Bayfront Park Amphitheater, Billboard.com reported.

British DJ Paul Oakenfold picked up a special award for gold sales of his Perfecto/Thrive beat-mixed set, "Great Wall," while Southern California's Crystal Method won best U.S. act, best album for "Legion of Boom," V2 and best single, "Born Too Slow."

Van Dyk received top honors in the best international DJ, best use of music in a TV commercial (Motorola) and best U.S. event for SummerStage 2003.

Other winners included Madonna for best chart act, Paris Hilton as best celebrity DJ, the Chemical Brothers as best international act, Audio Bullys for best new artist album for the Astralwerks set "Ego War," Jason Bentley as best radio DJ and Murk as best producer.
