Anastacia releases new record after cancer

NEW YORK, March 9 (UPI) -- Anastacia will release her first album worldwide this spring, the first music from the international pop singer since her yearlong battle with breast cancer.

The self-titled project will contain the single, "Left Outside Alone," which was released Monday in Europe, with subsequent release dates of March 22 in Britain and April 6 in North America, Billboard.com reported Tuesday.

The album is set for a March 29 debut in Europe while the North American date has not been set.

"If there's any message I'd like to get out, it's what I've learned from this experience: Educate yourself, realize that we're not perfect and that (cancer) can happen to any of us," Anastacia said last fall in Billboard.

The singer, who became a huge star throughout Europe with her 2000 debut, has been easing back into performing live. She appeared Saturday at the Echo Awards in Berlin and was expected to sing Tuesday at a London hospital.
