A 1985 fourth-round pick of the Winnipeg Jets, Olausson returns to the Mighty Ducks for a third stint after playing 47 games with the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings last season. Olausson had two goals and four assists in 21 playoff games after netting two and 13 during the regular season.

Olausson, 35, spent parts of eight seasons with Winnipeg before being traded to Edmonton in 1993. After being claimed off waivers by the Ducks, he was dealt to Pittsburgh, where he played 1 1/2 seasons before re-signing with Anaheim as a free agent in 1998.

After the 1999-2000 season, Olausson went overseas to play in Switzerland. He was lured back to the NHL by the Red Wings in May 2001.

In 200 games with Anaheim, the native of Sweden has 35 goals and 84 assists.

Olausson is the third-highest scoring defenseman born outside of North America in NHL history, has scored 145 goals and 573 points in 978 career games. He trails only Toronto legend Borje Salming (787 points) and former teammate Nicklas Lidstrom (626). |end| Content: 15031000 15031001
