The Islanders erased a 4-1 deficit at Sovereign Bank Arena and grabbed the lead early in the third period as Alexander Kharitonov and Juraj Kolnik scored 36 seconds apart.

But Jeremy Roenick threw the puck off the right boards and LeClair tapped a shot past rookie goaltender Dusan Salficky less than two minutes after Kolnik's second goal of the game.

Defenseman Marko Kiprusoff had a power-play goal and two assists for the Islanders, who also got a power-play goal and an assist from Michael Peca. Alexei Yashin, New York's other key offseason acquisition, did not play.

Flyers rookie Pavel Brendl, one of three players acquired from the New York Rangers in the Eric Lindros trade, scored his third preseason goal and set up another.
