Anaheim Angels -- Placed right fielder Tim Salmon on the 15-day
disabled list with a left upper cervical and shoulder strain;
recalled outfielder Jeff DaVanon from Salt Lake of the Pacific
Coast League (AAA); activated catcher Jose Molina and optioned
him to Salt Lake.
Chicago White Sox -- Placed pitcher David Wells on the 15-day
disabled list, retroactive to June 29, with a lower back strain;
recalled pitcher Matt Ginter from Charlotte of the International
League (AAA).
Cincinnati Reds -- Signed pitcher Jose Rijo to a minor league
contract; activated pitcher Dennys Reyes from the 15-day
disabled list and optioned him to Louisville of the
International League (AAA); sent outright pitcher Osvaldo
Fernandez to Louisville.
Cleveland Indians -- Recalled pitcher Danys Baez from Buffalo of
the International League (AAA); optioned pitcher Roy Smith to
Buffalo.
Milwaukee Brewers -- Placed pitcher Paul Rigdon on the 15-day
disabled list with ulnar neuritis in the right elbow; recalled
outfielder Alex Sanchez from Indianapolis of the International
League (AAA).
New York Mets -- Signed pitcher Jason Weintraub and catcher
Tyler Beuerlein.
New York Yankees -- Placed outfielder David Justice on the
15-day disabled list with a strained left groin; recalled
infielder Clay Bellinger from Columbus of the International
League (AAA).
San Diego Padres -- Agreed to terms with outfielder Cedric
Brooks.
St. Louis Cardinals -- Signed free agent Chris Hall and assigned
him to New Jersey of the the New York-Penn League (Class A).
Texas Rangers -- Placed third baseman Ken Caminiti on
irrevocable waivers for the purpose of giving him his
unconditional release; placed pitcher J.D. Smart of the 15-day
disabled list, retroactive to July 1, with discomfort in the
right shoulder; recalled pitcher Aaron Myette from Oklahoma of
the Pacific Coast League (AAA).
Toronto Blue Jays -- Agreed to terms with pitchers Brandon
League and Christopher Neylan, outfielder Tyrell Godwin and
shortstop Michael Rouse.
Newark Bears (Atlantic League/Independent) -- Agreed to terms
with pitcher Hector Wagner; released pitcher Fausto Macey.

Cleveland Cavaliers -- Named Max Benton trainer, Earl Patton
assistant director of player relations-player development and
Mark Cashman equipment manager-travel coordinator.
Houston Rockets -- Announced they will not exercise the contract
option on forward Carlos Rogers for next season; announced that
forwards Shandon Anderson and Maurice Taylor have decided not to
exercise player options for next season.
Washington Wizards -- Waived guard Mitch Richmond.

Buffalo Bills -- Released wide receivers Stephen Campbell and
Teddy Johnson and long snapper Ryan Diepenbrock.

Atlanta Thrashers -- Agreed to terms with restricted free agent

Boughner, who had been with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Martin Lapointe, who had been with the Detroit Red Wings, to a
three-year contract.
Dallas Stars -- Signed free agent right wing Donald Audette, who
had been with the Buffalo Sabres, to a four-year contract.

who had been with the Los Angeles Kings, to a two-year contract.
Los Angeles Kings -- Re-signed unrestricted free agent
defenseman Mathieu Schneider, who had been with the Los Angeles
