Patriots release Antonio Langham

FOXBORO, Mass., April 26 -- The New England Patriots released veteran cornerback Antonio Langham Thursday, a move that was not surprising since the Patriots signed free agent Terrance Shaw last month to play cornerback and nickel back.

Langham, 28, started seven of 15 games with the Patriots last season and had 40 tackles and one interception.

But the Pats plan to start Ty Law and either Shaw or Kato Serwanga at the corner positions.

A first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 1994, Langham also played with San Francisco.
