SAN JOSE, Calif., March 6 -- The San Jose Sharks remained active leading up to next week's NHL trade deadline, acquiring veteran left wing Bill Lindsay from the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night for a 2001 eighth-round draft pick.

Lindsay, 29, has a goal and nine assists in 52 games this season, his 10th in the NHL and second with the Flames.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Lindsay broke in with the Quebec Nordiques in 1991-92 but spent six seasons with Florida and helped the Panthers reach the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals by tying career bests with 12 goals and 34 points.

On Monday, the Sharks landed sniper Teemu Selanne from the San Jose Sharks for left wing Jeff Friesen, goaltender Steve Shields and a conditional draft pick.
