HOUSTON, Dec. 31 -- Anthony Perry scored 13 of his 16 points in the first half Sunday, allowing the 21st-ranked Georgetown Hoyas to stay perfect with a 79-63 victory over the Houston Cougars.
Georgetown (11-0) joined top-ranked Michigan State, No. 2 Stanford and fourth-ranked Wake Forest as the only 11-0 teams in Division I.
However, the Hoyas have cleaned up against the likes of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Howard, Grambling and Nicholls State, resulting in a ranking outside the top 20.
The Hoyas had no problems with Houston (3-9), which lost for the seventh time in eight games. George Williams led the Cougars with 17 points.
Georgetown opens Big East play on Wednesday at West Virginia. But the Hoyas should face their first serious test on Saturday, when they host 12th-ranked Seton Hall.
