In accordance with NHL regulations, the Bruins had to place Skudra on waivers since he was signed after the date of the NHL waiver draft. He was claimed Oct. 6 by Buffalo.

The Sabres assigned him to Rochester of the American Hockey League for a conditioning stint from Oct. 10-18 and he went 2-0-0 with a 2.50 goals against average and a .914 save percentage in two games with Rochester. He did not appear in a game with Buffalo this season.

Skudra played in 20 games with the Penguins last season, posting a 5-7-3 record and a 3.12 goals against average. His three-year NHL totals are 26-22-11 with a 2.65 goals against average and four shutouts in 74 career NHL games.
