Fleury wins weekly NHL honor

NEW YORK, Nov. 6 -- New York Rangers right wing Theo Fleury, who had five goals in three games, Monday was named the league's Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 5.

Fleury opened the week by recording his 15th career hat trick and added an assist in New York's 6-1 win over Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

He then recorded his 400th career goal in a 5-2 victory Saturday at Montreal.

Playing in his 13th NHL season, the 32-year-old Fleury has 11 goals and eight assists in 13 games, ranking second in the league in goals and fourth in scoring.

Also considered for the award were Edmonton Oilers goaltender Tommy Salo, and left wings Tomi Kallio of Atlanta and Sergei Samsonov of Boston.
