Coyotes sign two free agents

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 31 -- The Phoenix Coyotes Thursday added some depth on defense, signing Joel Bouchard and Dave MacIntyre to one-year contracts at undisclosed terms.

Bouchard spent most of last season with the Nashville Predators, collecting one goal and four assists in 52 games.

He was traded to the Dallas Stars late in the season and played in two games.

The 26-year-old Bouchard became an unrestricted free agent when he was not tendered a qualifying offer by the Stars. Bouchard also spent four seasons in the Calgary organization and played in 76 games in the 1996-97 season, totaling four goals and five assists.

MacIntyre, a 31-year-old native of Nova Scotia, played for JyP Jyvaskyla in the Finnish Elite League last season, recording two goals and six assists.
