Stars sign three players

DALLAS, July 28 -- The Dallas Stars tinkered with their roster Friday, retaining left wing Jamie Wright and signing free agent centers Chris Wells and Eric Houde to one-year deals.

Wright, 24, played 23 games for the Western Conference champions last season, collecting one goal and four assists. The club's fourth-round pick in 1994, Wright had nine goals and four assists in 45 games with Michigan of the International Hockey League.

Wells, 24, failed to score in 13 games with Florida last season before being dealt to the New York Rangers on March 13. He did not play for the Rangers, tallying two goals and two assists in 14 games for Hartford of the American Hockey League.

Houde, 23, was in Phoenix's organization last year, but never played for the NHL club. He split time with Hamilton and Springfield of the American League and totaled 31 goals and 38 assists in 75 games.
