Mighty Ducks sign Bylsma

ANAHEIM, July 13 -- Left wing Dan Bylsma, who spent the last five seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, agreed to terms Thursday with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on a one-year contract with a club option for the 2001-02 season.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Anaheim added two other unrestricted free agents, keeping defenseman Dean Malkoc with a one-year contract and adding left wing Kevin Sawyer, who agreed to a two-year pact.

Malkoc, 30, was acquired from the New York Islanders last October, but spent the entire 1999-00 season in the IHL, collecting two goals, eight assists and 130 penalty minutes in 62 games.

Sawyer, 26, played three games with the Phoenix Coyotes last season but totaled 321 penalty minutes, four goals and eight assists in 56 games with Springfield of the AHL.

On July 1, the Ducks began the free agent signing period by plucking left wing German Titov from the Edmonton Oilers.
