Y2K bug quiet so far WASHINGTON, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- The world's computers seem to have weathered the entry into the new millennium.
Bruce McConnell, director of the International Y2K Cooperation Center in Washington, said Saturday that 117 countries have reported making the transition with only a few minor glitches. Another 70 or so countries have not reported but are not believed to have had any major problems. McConnell says some bugs may crop up over the next few weeks as business systems are used, but added: "I think we may be on the verge of a major success." -- --
