Y2K hits Delaware slot machines
WASHINGTON, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- After combing the world for signs the Y2K computer bug might cause havoc during the New Year's Eve weekend, U.S. officials announced they discovered the first confirmed report of a malfunction due to the glitch: in Delaware slot machines. John A. Koskinen of the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion, told reporters 150 slot machines at three Delaware race tracks stopped functioning Thursday night because their software was programmed to look three days ahead. The machines have been made Y2K compliant and all are working again. -- --
