A STAR FOR DEPP: Johnny Depp will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday four days before his latest movie,$?'Sleepy Hollow,' opens. The movie a modern telling of Washington Irving's novel,$?'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' reunites Depp with director Tim Burton. They worked together previously on$?'Edward Scissorhands' and$?'Ed Wood.' Depp has also starred in$?'Benny and Joon,'$?'Donnie Brasco,'$?'Don Juan DeMarco' and the TV series$?'21 Jump Street.'

HONORS FOR DONNY & MARIE: Donny & Marie Osmond will receive the Distinguished Achievement Award from Retinoblastoma International at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles tonight. Larry King will present the award, and Ben Vereen will provide the entertainment for the Second Annual Miracles event in Beverly Hills, Calif. The guest list includes Jon Voight, Allen Thicke, and former Fifth Dimension singers Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr.

A HOME FOR PHIL: Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson has bought a home in Marina del Rey a three-story house with four bedrooms and a fireplace in the master suite. Jackson signed on in June to coach the Lakers. He bought the house last month. The Lakers had a home game at the new Staples Center Sunday, so Jackson was unable to be at Madison Square Garden in New York for a major fund-raiser for his friend and former Knicks teammate, Bill Bradley. Former Knicks Willis Reed and Walt Frazier joined with basketball legends Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Kareen Abdul-Jabbar and Julius Erving for the event, which was expected to raise at least $1.5 million for Bradley's campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination

BIG NIGHT FOR LAURYN HILL, KID ROCK: Lauryn Hill and Kid Rock each won three major awards at Saturday's Billboard Music Video Awards in Santa Monica, Calif. Hill won for Best R&B Clip and Best New R&B Clip for her$?'Ex-Factor' video, and Best Rap/Hip Hop Clip of the Year for $?'Everything is Everything.' Kid Rock took home prizes for Best New Pop Artist Clip, Best Hard Rock New Artist Clip and Best Modern Rock New Artist clip. Lenny Kravitz won the FAN.tastic Video Award, voted on by the public at Billboard Online, for his$?'Fly Away' video.

TROUBLE FOR LIT SINGER: A. Jay Popoff, lead singer of Lit, was arrested in Charlotte, N.C. last Wednesday on charges of indecent exposure. Popoff was taken in after stripping down to his boxer shorts during a performance at Tremont Music Hall at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He told MTV that$?'in the midst of some rock 'n' roll shenanigans, things may have gotten a little out of hand.' He also apologized to any fans who may have been offended, and extended thanks to$?'the police officers for being cool and letting me listen to Metallica on the way to the station.'

SOLE SURVIVING MILLS BROTHER DIES: Donald Mills the last surviving member of the legendary Mills Brothers signing group has died of pneumonia at 84. The Mills Brothers best known for their hits$?'Paper Doll,'$?'Tiger Rag,'$?'Lazy River' and$?'Cab Driver' pleased audiences as early as 1928 with their seemingly effortless blend of harmonies. They also broke some color lines, as one of the first black singing groups to have their own radio show and give royal command performances. Last year, Donald Mills known to fans as Don picked up a Grammy Award for Life Achievement on behalf of himself and his late musical siblings.

STILL FRESHMEN, 50 YEARS ON: The Four Freshmen are booked for one night only at Hollywood's Catalina Bar & Grill tonight their first appearance in the Los Angeles area in more than 15 years. The Catalina is just minutes from the headquarters of Capitol Records, where the quartet began their career with the 1950 release of their first hit, $?'It's a Blue World.' The group just released a new CD,$?'Still Fresh,' on The Gold Label, Pat Boone's new record company for artists over 45- years-old who have at least one gold album to their credit.
